Criticism: http://bust.com/blog/view-by-tag/the+new+beauty+magazine/
A controversial magazine, called New Beauty, is criticized by Emilie Branch. Branch is a writer for the womens magazine Bust. New Beauty is devoted to advanced beauty products and cosmetic surgery however, Branch finds the magazine to be unsettling in the way that it deems cosmetic surgery the "'new' beauty". She points out that cosmetic surgery can be medically necessary and empowering for some women, but worries that in the future it may become too common, or even expected, for women to enhance themselves with cosmetic surgery.

While that future may seem far off, cosmetic surgery is more common than it has ever been. In the past, cosmetic surgery was often considered taboo, today teens in the Hamptons have Botox parties. I think that we should be careful to consider plastic surgery as a means of improving ones beauty. While it has its benefits, such as quick results and ease, surgery carries serious risks to oneself that are often unnecessary.
